Courses Offered in B.Sc Nautical Science

COURSES OFFERED WITH THE SYLLABUS:

The educational and training program here is designed to inculcate Officer like quality and high sense of discipline in the cadets. Brief outline of the educational & training program for degree course:-

It includes:-

• Scholastic: Subject like English, communication skills, applied mathematics, nautical physics & electronics, computer science & marine management, practicals in these subjects are held as per university’s requirement.
• Professional: Navigation. Astronomy, practical navigation, voyage planning, including chart work, magnetic & Gyro compass, electronic navigational aids, viz., radar, Decca, loran, satellite navigation, GPS, GMDSS & ship operation technology, naval architecture, cargo work, ship maintenance, collision prevention and marine communication.
• Applied Subjects: Maritime Law, Marine Engineering and control system, environmental science, metrology, geology, oceanography, marine collision and hydro graphic surveyor.
  Training is imparted by very proficient faculty which includes experienced mariners, academicians and visiting faculty.

DURATION OF COURSES AND VACATION:

The Degree course at T.S.CHANAKYA is a three year course with two terms in a year. The Academic session begins in August – September and last till December . the second term commences from fifteen January and goes on till the end of May.

1st Semester: 24 August to 14 December. 
2nd Semester: 15 January to 31 May. 

There are two vacation Monsoon and winter vacation. Cadet are not allowed to stay in campus during the vacation period.
