Cospas-Sarsat Participants
There are now a number of countries and organisations participating in the operation of the System, as illustrated in the map below. These include the four Parties to the Cospas-Sarsat International Programme Agreement (Canada, France, Russia and the USA), 19 Ground Segment Providers, 8 User States and 2 Participating Organisations. Additional countries are in the process of formally joining the Programme.
Interest in the Cospas-Sarsat Programme remains strong on the part of international organisations. These include: the International Maritime Organisation (IMO); the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO): the International Telecommunication Union (ITU); the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS); the International Radio Maritime Committee (CIRM); and the International Federation of Air Line Pilots Associations (IFALPA).
